The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) offers many services for our faculty and staff partners. We work collaboratively with these partners to establish and build career plans that span a student's four years at Western Carolina University. We are willing to work closely with you in the development of curriculum, extracurricular activities, and workshops, and to help you identify employer talent to bring to campus.

Check out this article from some WCU COB Faculty on incorporating BIG INTERVIEW into their curriculum. 

• Incorporate career content with grab-and-go career modules, including PPTs, lesson plans, and resources.
• Bring in the experts by requesting a presentation from our staff. 
• Meet with your liaison to develop assignments, brainstorm ideas, or get resources using our request form.
• If you’d like to include employers as guest speakers in your classroom, contact your liaison.
• Integrate career development into your work with this list of ideas or by contacting your liaison. 
• Use the CCPD Career Assignment List to incorporate career-related assignments into your syllabus.
• Feel free to use CCPD's Resume, Interview, and LinkedIn rubrics when grading student resumes. You can also tweak the rubrics to fit your needs and industry.

• Encourage employers to post job and internship opportunities in JobCat. (link is specific for employers).
• This short guide from NACE provides you with guidance on ethical and legal situations you may encounter while helping students with job and internship searches.

DegreePlus

• Get involved as DegreePlus faculty and staff - host events, promote the program, or become a mentor. 
• Share the DegreePlus student page to help students engage with the program.
• Find upcoming events via the DegreePlus Engage page.
• In addition to our in-person events, we offer DegreePlus Digital with curated videos, podcasts, and more.
