Project C.A.R.E. students Fall 2023

Project C.A.R.E. retreat, Fall 2023

Project C.A.R.E. (Culturally Aligned Retention Enhancement) is designed to help first-year and transfer students adjust to life at WCU and navigate the collegiate experience successfully through intentional peer-to-peer mentorship. Guided by upper-class students who are committed to developing a bond with incoming and transfer students, this program aims to increase the retention and graduation rate of students.

Our aim is to have a positive effect on the academic performance, retention, and graduation of students from all backgrounds. Project C.A.R.E. is open to any student who demonstrates a need and affinity for a high-touch, culturally relevant, mentoring experience.
